Raymond Deane is an Irish contemporary composer hailing from Tuam, Co. Galway. He has been a member of Aosdána, the Irish state-supported academy of artists, since 1986. He was awarded a doctorate in composition by the National University of Ireland in 2005. Deane is well travelled and bases his life between Dublin, Paris, and Fürth (Bavaria).
