The Sharp Aquos TV does not support HDMI ARC. When connected with just the HDMI cable the TV showed a volume control for the soundbar, but there was no sound. Ensured NVIDIA Control Panel has SHARP HDMI as audio output. Disabled CPU Audio Sounds in BIOS. Plugged in HDMI through Motherboard, enabling on board audio/video to see if that would work (therefore ruling out issues to ensure targeting the GPU as the audio problem; still did not receive audio) In BIOS, changed HD Audio Output from SPDIS to HDMI.

Go into the menu of the sharp, over to audio (or sound) and turn off HDMI audio. This should make the TV default to analog audio for that input. Or you may have to tell the sharp you using a DVI cable in the video menu which would make the TV default to the correct audio input. If this doesn't work try a different brand 3.5mm to RCA adaptor.
