Sharp tvs will not output ANY audio from a hdmi input device, either analog (headphone jack) or digital (optical port). Those ports will only work if inputting analog (red/white) audio, or from the tvs internal tuner, this model tv also does not have an audio return channel, so options are quite limited.

1. Open the Menu. Go to Initial Setup, Input Settings, Output select. Set Output select to "fixed". If it is set to variable, the audio menus are greyed out. 2. Go to Audio Settings.
