Just bought the Sharp 70". Fairly happy with the picture for a bare bones model but has one nagging problem that may cause me to return it. In order to get sound from the optical out to my Sony receiver, I have to open up the menu everytime and turn "PC-In" to "HDMI" and back to "PC-IN" in the audio menu in order to get sound to come out of the surround speakers.

optical outputs (from most all TV's) will only output PCM stereo from externally connected devices. Only the internal TV tuner will output a Dolby Digital signal. If using a soundbar, I wouldn't sweat whether it's Dolby Digital or not. Just set the soundbar for Dolby Pro-Logic. It will sound better than TV speakers.
