1. uninstall all the sound drivers. Do not uninstall Microsoft's sound driver. 2. download and install Realtek R2.69. 3. It will install but the sound will not come back. However it brings back the "object" which is not present. 4. Now without uninstalling realtek driver, install sigmatel driver 6.10.0.5609. 5. It will work as fine as earlier.

What happens is I try and install any version of the Sigmatel Driver and it says "Device Object Not Present" I've tried installing it through device manager "add hardware" etc and I can at least get windows to recognize "Sigmatel" under Audio drivers but it never completes the installation. This comes about after a hard drive upgrade.

Several times I have formatted my C drive to intall fresh OS and have used the sigmatel driver and everything had worked fine. One day when I was trying to install the driver there came a message 'Device object not present'. and audio driver installation failed.
