The Microphone and Speakers appeared to work for about 20 seconds after boot before completely crashing with no audio or microphone. Restarting Windows Audio does nothing. Only after uninstalling everything related to the SigmaTel Drivers do i get my sound back. I'd like to get this Microphone to work, but the amount of work here seems daunting.

1. With the mic unplugged from the laptop, go to Start/Control Panel/ Sigmatel and check the 'allow popups' box. 2. Open the Sounds and Audio Devices Properties box (right click on the volume icon on the taskbar and click 'adjust audio properties', or go through the Control Panel/Sounds & Audio Devices). The problem is you are probably using the Windows Default driver and the mic may not work while using it. If you have tried the Vista drivers you would need to disable the on-board audio in the BIOS and use either a USB Sound Card or an add-in audio card - neither of which is expensive (of course it would need to have a mic input).
