There is a bad IDT driver "update" that is going around, that was started by Microsoft. The audio fails after the "update" and it seems to rename the audio system so that the proper Sigmatel driver cannot be installed. If you come across an IDT audio driver on your system then that is most likely the source of the trouble. Jim
