After installing latest Sigmatel drivers for Vista its still the same, in Device manager there's a SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC with yellow "!" and "This device cannot start (Code 10)". Must say I tried to install them in Vista compatibility mode. I saw there were hotfixes for Vista ans XP that fix this issue after upgrading to SP2.
