The Denon 2808CI supports 2-channel pcm (spdif only – not hdmi) sources into Zone 2, and, of course, 2-channel pcm over hdmi into the Main Zone, and simultaneously it should be able to do this… I hope. Yes, you can have HDMI video and S/PDIF audio simultaneously. I don’t know what the limitations of S/PDIF are, so I guess it would relate to what media you’re trying to listen to. S/PDIF doesn’t support True-HD, I don’t think, but it does support full DD 5.1 and DTS. By the way, there’s no involvement of a DAC when using S/PDIF.

I also have a older denon av receiver no hdmi just coax and spdif along with analog. I have the hdmi direct into my tv and the spdif into the receiver. Is there anyway to have them both active or do I have to set the default each time say when I want to watch a movie 5.1 through the receiver and back to hdmi when I just want to watch TV.

I can set the Speakers/HDMI as the default device, and listen to Stereo Mix using my receiver. The problem is that it's stereo and not 5.1, so it kind of defeats the point. I've reinstalled the Realtek audio driver, using both the Motherboard (Gigabyte Gaming 3 AB350) driver, and the vanilla Realtek drivers. I've tried plenty of reboots.
