Re: Sky q hdmi audio output. 30 Apr 2021 02:14 PM. Hi @FWKHR364. It's whichever you prefer. The Soundbox will try to interpret the sound mix and put the sound out of whichever of its speakers it thinks will reproduce the right sound. It depends also on the source material and how it's mixed.

Re: Audio out. 19 Dec 2021 12:33 PM. I had to buy an HDMI eARC extractor, then try and miss, at end all worked and I can now output the audio via my existing Amplifier. See pictures of my connections, also settings. "Auto" gives me a flat sound with no bass, "passthrough" gives me all the sound effects plus bass.

As for the Mini boxes, HDMI is the main output. Mine also has: Optical out, AV (3.5 mm), and USB socket. I have no idea what output you will get from those but I assume that Optical is for Audio. On the Sky Q help page they say if your TV doesn’t have HDMI then use an adapter cable HDMI to AV.
