Skype worked flawlessly on Intrepid but barfed (actually choked on 200% CPU – 2xcores, and 30 seconds speech latency) under Jaunty (BETA). This -PulseAudio/+esound work-around has Skype sound under Jaunty working again for me (and I suspect even sounds a lot cleaner). 10-15% max CPU.

Skype now works with pulse!... no idea if this is the intrepid pulseaudio, the changes I did during hardy lifetime or a skype upgrade... either way Its nice to see pulse start to "just work" instead of the horror from the hardy default install. Now I just need a nice "when skype is making noise mute all other sources to 20%" tool :)

I have to say I'm quite happy that Bluetooth in Intrepid has a discovery mode. I got a Bluetooth dongle just days before release, hoping I'd get a feel for it first. Under Hardy, that didn't go so well. In Intrepid, things paired quite nicely. Now, with a little work, I've gotten Skype and my Bluetooth headset to work together - for only the first call.
