The other side was using Mac OS in this case, however, I got the same results with Skype Test Call - you record a message and it plays it back to you - so I am pretty sure the issue is on my side. I could hear the recorded message very, very faintly. I assume it is caused either by a sound setting problem on my side, or a driver issue.

Thank you for skype-call-recorder. I have been using it on Ubuntu 12.04 (AMD 64) since Thursday 2014-07-10 11:30 Z (UTC) when I first used it on a call to echo123. All of the playbacks had excellent quality audio. I have found the skype-call-recorder very useful especially when I run it from a terminal. Is there a way to suppress the ping reports?
