stream - PulseAudio delay before writeable callback …
https://stackoverflow.com/questions/70691673/pulseaudio-delay-before-writeable-callback-called
The issue is there is a significant delay (~280ms) before my callback is called (i.e. the stream is writable) and this it is obvious that the audio is out of sync to the light event. Unfortunately I can't seem to find any info on this delay before the stream is writable. Unloading the suspend-on-idle-module improved the delay from ~280ms to ~70ms.

In the "Playback" tab, Skype flickers as a playback device, and this flickering translates to the stuttering/crackling audio you hear in the video. It's hard to tell without being a developer, of course, but I'm suspecting that the issue could lie somewhere between Skype and Pulse Audio, or Skype and ALSA. My Steps to Reproduce: 1.

There are no latency offsets specified in pavucontrol for any sound devices. Also, restarting PulseAudio (pulseaudio -k) makes it work fine again, without a delay, until a reboot. The system logs only show this (this is a clean boot, without restarting the daemon after boot): Code: > sudo journalctl -b | grep -i pulse Lap 07 11:07:08 mahobay ...

I have pulseaudio running, and I'm using a bluetooth speaker with other applications (tested with cmus,) but this device does not show in Skype under Audio & Video Settings. Instead, only my ALSA devices show. As per some suggestion I saw on these Skype forums, I put this as my ~/.asoundrc: pcm.!default { type pulse} ctl.!default { type pulse ...

pulseaudio - Sound output starts delayed - Ask Ubuntu
https://askubuntu.com/questions/218444/sound-output-starts-delayed
Via SPDIF hearable sound starts late, e. g. in the Test Sound dialog I maximally can hear "Left" when the voice should say "Front Left". When I have pavucontrol open (in the background) whilst clicking on the Test Sound it starts immediately.. Generally, starting any audio/media file, the beginning is not output/hearable.
