I use Slackware 14.1 with xfce too, no problem with sound on html5 audio output with Firefox (without extra plugin) I did nothing more than enabling pulseaudio on xfce session startup and use the .asoundrc settings from above, I use pavucontrol to choose audio output on youtube as I have 2 soundcards (intel internal and a maudio PCI)

Unfortunately I no longer use slackware 14.1 Also the skype-all-inone with pulseaudio was deprecated but I never repackaged a new release. There is another release that I made during slackware-current (that should works on slackware 14.1) before that slackware included pulseaudio. it uses apulse as a static package instead pulseaudio.
