Solid-state relay boards: Can they be used to switch audio ...

A solid-state relay seems to be the totally wrong tool for the job. The image you posted shows it is intended to switch 240V AC. So it is designed to switch something like a 240V light on and off. Relays in general are things designed to connect one thing to another (eg. power to a light). They just aren't designed to switch audio signals.

A relay in an audio path is going to cause a "pop" under two conditions: If there's a voltage across it at the moment it closes. If there's a current flowing through it at the moment it opens. There's no way around this; if you can't avoid these conditions, then a relay may not be the correct solution for your application.

General-purpose Relay Solid State Relay (SSR) Features Compact More compact than an SSR when the same load capacity is controlled. Enable downsizing of multi-pole relays. Etc. Enable high-speed and high-frequency switching. Unlimited number of switching operations. Consist of semiconductors, so there is no contact erosion caused by switching.

https://sound-au.com/articles/mosfet-relay.htm
Introduction. Solid-State relays (SSRs) for AC have been around for as long as the first SCRs and TRIACs became available. However, none of these early devices was suitable for use with audio signals, because of gross distortion around the zero-crossing point of the waveform. MOSFET based SSRs have existed from around 1984, when a patent was taken out …

The solid state switch has an output that turns on or off according to the signal applied to the input. Another attribute of solid state relays is that they provide electrical isolation between the input and output circuits as do the more traditional electromechanical relays. Solid state relays have a number of advantages over relays, providing faster switching, greater reliability and …
