If that is your internal soundcard, you have to go to Options\Audio\Advanced and choose MME as the Driver, then go back to the General tab, run the wave profiler, then close and restart Sonar.

I've already got my sound setup, so there is no need to make adjustments, but you might just try that. Also, SONAR is pretty finicky about multiple sound playback, so if you have online radio, or mp3s or whatever else run on your system, sometimes that can goof things up a little. Couple places to start anyway.
