The dropouts occur when the TV is on and also when it is switched off, turning it on or off doesn't solve anything. If you haven't already, I would check to make sure "HDMI Deep Color" is selected on the BluRay if the option is available on the TV (I couldn't find a manual for that model Sony KD-55XH3505.

For 2-3 weeks now, the audio drops out every 30-40 minutes when watching the built-in apps. This does not occur when watching Blu-ray, or casting music directly to the receiver. Turning either component off/on usually fixes it. Sometimes hitting the mute button for a few seconds will also fix it.

The Audio drop out only seems to happen when using HDMI (SKY and BluRay present the same issue). The picture is perfect at all times and the audio drop out can happen twice in two minutes or four times in seven hours...
