I have the same problem and don’t even have corel. my sony veags 8.0 has only started not working and showing the initializing audio engine message since i got appear to be “dodgy” plug-ins from a tutorial off youtube. I just bought Sony Vegas Platinum addition and the digital audio interface on my system is an EMU 1616M. The interface works real well, but there seems to be a problem with Vegas as it is initializing. When I double-click on the program, and the splash screen appears, it hangs when it is loading the audio engine.
