Original title: audio device problem just had windows xp reinstalled. Sound not working. Under the Sound and Audio Devices properties the "Sound playback" default device is grayed out. Attempted Microsoft Fix it but the best I get is "audio device not set as default". The sound recording default does show a device. Ideas???
