It probably doesn't get a lot of love around these parts because of these two primary reasons. Digital isn't necessarily bad IMO, but it's rarely good as far as distortion or OD goes. It's a little (a lot) off topic, but the Source Audio envelope filter sounds AWESOME (check out the gearmanndude demo) from clips I've heard.
