XP SP3 does not carry any Audio setup related changes. Infact it also carries HD Audio class driver. If your laptop has HD Audio, check with Toshiba whether they released any new audio drivers for XP SP3. As you are saying you have no conflicting devices or devices that do not have drivers (yellow bang) can you share the DXDiga Log?

There is a yellow question mark against this hardware on the Device Manager, Other Devices. The Properties shows it is present but no drivers were installed with Code 28. Using the Reinstall Drivers option results in thwe wizard saying it cannot install this hardware because the wizrad cannot find the necessary software!
