Get Static and poor sound quality on Burned CDs in Windows Media Player. Only recently I've developed a problem with burning CDs on Windows Media Player. The CD has lots of static and the sound quality is poor. I'm using Memorex CD-RW disks which I have used in the past no problems at all. I've had my car CD player checked and it's fine.

If it was the burned CD itself, the problem would be in the same place on the CD and it wo¨ldn't be fine one time and not the next I would think. Have you cleaned the lens on your lasar yet? A dirty lens on you CD player can cause static and skipping the same way a glob of dust can cause a phono needle to skip and cause static on a record.
