The reason is that orphaned B-Frames at the start of the source will be treated differently. In my experience the audio delay should be honored with DGIndex / DGDecode, but it should be discarded with other source filters. The bottom line is that the automatic audio delay treatment of StaxRip cannot be trusted.

One time, when StaxRip demuxed a VOB rip; it generated a file named "VTS_01_1 ID0 2ch 192Kbps -115ms.ac3". What I would do is set the audio delay from -115 or whatever number it is to 0. From the sound of it, it's a mix of hard and soft telecine and giving StaxRip the IFO or VOB files might help with that. ...from mediainfo which is 29.941. Probably a result of you using MakeMKV on it. All NTSC DVDs output 29.97fps (or 59.94 fields per second).

Hey, thanks for the replies guys. I will get the StaxRip log to the author. I will try muxing in any video delay too. Troubleshooting yesterday, I manually stepped through the audio delay (it was actually a reverse delay -- the audio was behind the video, so I muxed with a negative delay) and compensated for it when muxing, but it grows over the length of the movie.

If there a delay needed for the audio it's handled by Mediainfo, if Mediainfo doesn't state there a delay StaxRip doesn't create delay for the audio. Mediainfo 18.08 should not be used due to the bugs.
