I have a st31. It's a pretty shitty mic, but I got it for like $40. I use it on bottom snare and it works well (being a hypercardiod), but that's the only thing I've ever used it for. I'm not dumping on the sterling stuff. The ST55 is a solid $200 mic, and the ST77 and ST79 are awesome. I think you can get Oktava MC-012 for around the price.
