There's not much talk about it, but the few reviews I have found so far have been outstanding. Figure for the price, it would be worth a shot. I'll mainly be using it for male rock vocals.

The ST77 and ST79 have VERY different insides from the rest of the Sterling line. They are definitely NOT designed by Aston Pittman (of Groove Tubes). That being said, it's a great mic that belongs in the locker. My buddy uses his ST77 on the outside of his kick drum. It sounds great. Sonically the 79 is simply a 77 with multiple pickup patterns.
