hi guys, all of a sudden a couple of days ago i have absolutely no sound from star trek online, every other thing on my pc works fine such as other games, google chrome, youtube etc. but when i go to play STO nothing, i have checked all my audio settings everything is at 100%, my audio device is my headset yet nothing, any suggestions and help would be appreciated.

All audio in Star Trek online is absent since (at least) the last update (august). All other audio functions in other programs and games function properly. Played with the audio settings of course to no effect. Reinstalled client to no effect. Still no sound. Pew pew sounds are mandatory! 0. Comments.

Assuming your headset shows up as a separate sound device, try connecting them before launching STO, ensure they're already listed as an active device, then open STO, go to the Audio options and then make sure STO has the right output device (like, 3rd or 4th from the bottom of the audio options page) selected.

Update for those who have been helping. The sound is present in both the tv speakers and stereo headset. Sound goes away immediately when I pause STO and return to the PS4 menu. Sound goes away entirely if I set the ambient volume slider under the audio options tab to zero. Maybe the ambient volume tracks are stored on vinyl. (Kidding :p)
