You can add an external audio system of your choice. I don't know what "the necessary sound card" is. The 92HD73C chip is a pretty advanced piece of technology. Sorry I can't help with the problem. My bet would be that it is a driver incompatibility. As I told someone earlier, the IDT drivers for the Studio models seem to be a work in progress. Jim
