First, they told me to connect the analog output directly from a CD player to the back of subwoofer (red and white wires). If this doesn't work, then take out the subwoofer speaker and hook it up to the receiver to see if it works as it's own speaker. If the speaker works, then it is the amplifier, which is ~ $160 to replace.
