Swans D1080-IV : The Surprise package in budget
https://audiowavegeek.com/swans-d1080-iv/
For your reference, if you have heard the all-time favorite, blue-eyed boys Audioengine A5+ and A2+ or the Mackie or Rocket, etc, I would say that Swans could make a big dent into their segment with the value for money proposition that they offer. These D1080-IV sits right somewhere in between the A2+ and A5+ in terms of the quality

The Audioengine HD3 is also available for the same refurbished price ($319). Though, there's not enough reviews for me to gauge whether they're a gimped HD6 or a beefed up A2+, and whether they're worth the money or if they'll sound better than my D1080-IV.

Hello, I am looking to buy some new speakers to upgrade from my Logitech x540s (only using left and right speakers no room for 5.1, rear speakers are weak anyway), at first I was looking at the audioengine a2 until these Swan speakers appeared on www.pccasegear.com and the Swan d1080-iv caught my eye and the price ($250AUD) seems to be about right too.

Exactly. I tried a pair of the A2+ for my MBP. Not bad, but certainly not worth the $250 I paid. Returned them in less than a week. Picked up a pair of Swan D1080-IV active monitors for $150 which sound so much better.
Audio engine a2 vs Swan m10? : audiophile

The Audioengine A2 has boosted bass and slightly reduced treble. The mids are more forward in the A2 compared to the M10. Clarity is very similar with both speakers. The bass extension and impact on the Swan M10 is better than the A2 but is still lacking compared to real 2.1 setups.
