This had really been the first time I had seen any notion that T3 was not a good company and was producing and shipping "junk" equipment. What are all of your opinions on this? I am in the planning stage still for my newest system and was seriously considering some T3 audio T1000 D4 12" subwoofers but now I'm a bit worried.

I used the T3 with a pair of Definitive Technology Mythos Fours (plus a Mythos Three center and a pair of Mythos Two surrounds). The Mythos Fours do not include powered subs, so they definitely benefit from the presence of a good subwoofer. In this setup, I found the best crossover point to be just a bit lower than 60 Hz.

Your set-up is pure 2 channel stereo, albiet, very good 2 channel stereo. The T3 subwoofer ( made in China if that is any consequence) is one exception subwoofer that will work with the Rotel pre-out and amp you have. It hooks up to the main speaker terminals to accept "the identical signals as the main speakers".

I am just in the throws of purchasing a new sub and am looking at the REL T3. Can anyone recommend this sub, I will be using with Kef 6000 satellite (wall mounted) speakers, for stereo hifi and also 5.1 surround. Room size is approx 15 feet square.
