The hda controller can't access the codec after s3. In theory the commit b5a236c175b0 will not introduce this issue, at least on other machines. Please do a test, with the kernel already reverting the commit, play some sound, while it is playing, let machine enter s3 and resume.

Reboot your machine. If you still can't get any sound, check whether it's "Dummy Output" as your sound card. If so, add "options snd-hda-intel model=generic" to the end of "/etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf". This issue is mainly caused by "HDA-Intel.conf".
