Hey! I recently got a new macbook pro for christmas, and I also got sims 4. after about 13 hours of gameplay, i started hearing popping/crackling noises, and i thought maybe it was because i had the game running for so long, but the noises have continued when i play the game. The best way to describe the noise is the sound when a speaker blows out.

The Sims support site mentioned adding a "-nosound" tag to the desktop shortcut property and that does do the trick and allows the game to keep playing (for a while at least).
