The tricky bit is bitstreaming the True HD or DTS HD digital audio un-decoded via HDMI. This is not currently supported by IGP or Graphics card solutions (as it requires a Protected Audio Path - which AIUI Microsoft don't have standardised driver support for) and only the Xonar and Auzentech solutions (which use proprietary implementations requiring specific playback …

TrueHD can't be sent over standard SPDIF, you need balanced TLS or alike cables for it. NO HDMI will NOT work either, as HDMI is nothing short of slightly more bandwidth then Component Video with standard SPDIF audio. So as far as outputting decoded TrueHD, I highly doubt there is a internal sound card that will do it.

You can use a low-cost video card with a HDMI connection. To Windows, audio through its HDMI port is a separate sound device which you can choose from the Windows Sound settings configuration. The new HTPC/Blending box has begun the planning and early accumulation stage. I'm sortta stuck at the sound card though. Most people say the on-board sound today is fine but I disagree. There are sound cards supporting HD audio bitstreaming, but tied to a specific player (Xonar to TMT, X-Fi HomeTheater HD to PDVD), and very expensive because of analog circuitry, which wont' be used for HD audio bitstreaming. You'd better buy a graphics card supporting HD audio bitstreaming. If you care about PQ, HD 6570/GT 430 is the minimum.
