UMS should reencode your AC3 to higher bitrate so if it will work, try 384 then. If problem will arise, this bitrate (when audio is stereo) should be problematic. Also you can try to use 256 if it will work and PS3 has problem with bitrate lower than 385 or only 384 is buggy.

Apocalypse was stuttering at the beginning and soon after no audio wiyh PS3. The info function also displays video information but no audio track!! (lpcm). I've been through the entire thread and could not find anything similar to my problem. Please help! I'm using TSMuxer (great piece of software) to make a Blu-Ray structure, playable on my PS3. Video is great, multiple subs work perfectly and it's fast. But, audio is an issue. Everything I create downgrades surround sound to 2-channel LPCM.

The audio is .AAC, and subs are .ASS, both are not compatible with tsMuxeR. I suggest demuxing with mkvextractGUI (all audio and subtitles streams) convert with eac3to to 2 channel AC3 @ 192 kb/s (this will work, I tested) and using Subtitle Workshop to convert the ASS subs to SRT (Subrip) subtitles (this will also work, tested on a different video).

It's a problem with TsMuxer, MKVtoolnix since after 4.0.0.0 has included header compression and TsMuxer can't cope with it. It's actually in the MKV specifications so technically it's a bug in TsMuxer. Until an update is released for TsMuxer theres no option but to turn off header compression as explained above or use version 4.0.0.0 or less.
