Click the Pane Menu button in the Sequence pane or the Media pane and click Audio Scrubbing. A check mark indicates that Audio Scrubbing is enabled. To disable audio scrubbing and remove the check mark, click Audio Scrubbing again.

Cody, try using audio waveforms on the timeline. Magnify the timeline so you can see the waves clearly and you'll be able to identify sounds/words and cut in the spaces between. I started editing that way when an impornt client asked me to switch off the audio scrubbing because it got on her nerves (stress, deadlines, angst, etc).

You can toggle this feature per track by holding down the shift key and clicking on the little track speaker icon. It will toggle from a hollow speaker (scrubbing enabled) to a solid speaker (scrubbing disabled). Scrubbing also has two modes.

The interface is still dragging even when I do simple trims with audio scrub on. If I dual-roller trim with the mouse to one position and back, Media Composer bounces the trim point back and forth until it lands. Very frustrating. I have tried the following: 1.
