a simple 4PST relay would have solved it too. route the signal through 2 of the poles, signal ground through the 3rd and the turn on lead on the 4th. Turn the relay on and off with the fusebox wire. This will disconnect the signal from the amp instantly and the HU thump wont make it, and effectively disable the auto-sense.
