i had the no sound issue too and the drivers never installed properly. i installed the k-lite codec and amazingly it sorted things out. sound input needs to be set to usb in ulead not usbheadphone or mic. sound quality in windows movie maker and power producer are crappy but the ulead sounds a lot better. go figure. quite a bargain for $9!
