It is, I use an Xbox 360 controller, and the game supports rumble and any ship's specials are already mapped to the shoulder buttons. Because most modes only have 3 lanes, I pretty much always play with a controller.

-360 pad for driving.-Kb+m for on-foot run and gunning. I tried Assassin's Creed with my 360 pad, TBH I found the KB+m controls to be much better, especially camera control.
