Personally i use beat detective over elastic audio. I find there are to many artifacts with elastic audio. However beat detective works best on short rhythmic parts. I also use it with crossfade. But i still think the best way is to manually fix the part by ear. Meaning cutting up the regions with the issues and moving them around to fit the rest.
