I too have been having a heck of a time with Windows 10 and VIA audio. I have sound, but I am unable to use the sound equalizer or subwoofer bass boost. I make changes but the sound remains the same. I use both the new windows 10 equalizer menu, and I've also tried the VIA audio deck tray program.
