My $.02 cents is VWs 1K6 amp’s virtue is cost cutting 1st and foremost, whilst salvaging the marketing of whatever an “external amp” is to mean. I've got a 2011 VW Golf with the "upgraded" Dynaudio speakers and Blaupunkt 300 w 8 channel amp with digital crossover. It was lacking on the low end so I added a mono amp and 10" sub. The system is better with more low end but overall it still sounds harsh and overbalanced with highs no matter what the EQ settings are.
