Maxxaudio is interesting. I've started to use it along with the Yamaha chip / qualcomm dac on the Oneplus. Maxxaudio Maxxspace creates the impression of a bigger soundstage, and seems to be some kind of algorithmic dsp. Having used it with the TF10, it certainly helps the iem come even more alive.

MaxxVolume to me seems more like a "make the level as even as possible"-tool. It can be nice for leveling out voiceovers or other tracks. Stuff that comes from radio stations sounds like it went through such a device. I doubt that it will do what you want. It sounds as if you just need a brickwall limiter like the L2 (if you want to stay Waves).
