Just purchased the WD TV Live HD Media Player an i am experiencing some major issues with sound. I cant hear when i playback a TV show or movie? i have the 6 cables plugged in for COMPONENT Video and Audio , all i can hear is a buzzing sound. I just upgraded firmware, still same problem. Check your TV’s audio settings. Check your HDMI cable. WDTV Live has old firmware. Try upgrading to the latest (.11) via internet or try downloading from the web and upgrade using USB stick. If you have the latest and still have issues, then try using the same HDMI cable with a different TV and see if its an issue with your TV audio settings.

there should be No Static at all ! eliminate your Receiver and Impedance Selector Switch etc totally … simply connect the WDTV Live Hub *directly*to your TVvia RED / WHITE and YELLOW do you get “Loud Static” from your TV Speakersdoing this ?? if no … then your External Audio Gear has a problem if yes … then your WDTV Live has a problem irem77

If you select “stereo” in the WD Live audio playback (the default) this is all mixed in with the rest of the channels and can indeed be overwhelmed by them.
