The Live doesn’t play well with MP4s – never has, and audio issues are one symptom (usually sync is the issue). Just to eliminate that as the reason, take one of your files and run it through Handbrake using the High Profile preset (but change the output type to MKV). If that plays properly then you at least have narrowed down the issue.

Hi guys, I’m running into a problem with my WD live. It won’t play audio from certain movies I add, I added 10 movies yesterday, it will play the audio for some of them, but other movies just don’t have audio. The movies I added have a mixture of AC3 and DTS, but I have multiple movies with AC3 & DTS which all play fine.

I have the “noisy buzz” problem since I bought the WD TV Live. It seems that the firmware does have some kind of limit for sound levels.
