The tv we were using would not go to the source and play the audio without video, so I had to trick it into having a video signal then it loaded the xbox screen with the wii audio. In the end this made me realize it had to be the video out for some reason.

I have an old Wii...and a newer one. The old one, when I plug it in, shows the red like, as normal, and when I push power on system or controller....the light turns green, and can hear it make that usual sound when it turns on...like checking the drive I think...but get no audio or video...and the TV screen just says No Signal.

My wii works perfectly fine. The only issue I have is when I boot it up (Red light to green light), sound comes out of the tv, but no video is shown. I have gone through five different brands and types of wii video/audio cables and nothing has worked. I think it has something to do with the video plug inside the console.

The Wii has video output when connected directly to the tv. I am thinking either the receiver is starting to go out or the power issues in the room are getting worse due to to much load. There is only a 15 amp breaker powering the entire room, this is a rental so nothing I am willing to do about it.
