Wilson Audio SabrinaX Loudspeakers | REVIEW - Part-Time ...

On this record, the Wilson Audio SabrinaX loudspeakers most definitely did not disappoint. Super clean highs and cracking drums were the order of the day when I played this one. Side one contains one 12:10 song, “Luminal.” The sheer smack of the snare drum and the punch of the kick drum was stunning.

Aug 02nd, 2021 A A A I must admit that I didn’t use to be a huge fan of Wilson speakers. I must also admit that saying this is an awkward way to begin a review of a Wilson speaker. But a positive review from a nay-sayer turned aficionado speaks volumes about that product’s performance and capabilities.

The sound impressions that Wilson's newcomer delivered were definitely something to behold, even if not quite "too good to be true", although we were fairly amazed at how big, full-bodied and confident the SabrinaX played. First comment of an amazed listener: "They not only claim 'HighEnd'. There's also 'HighEnd' in it!" Exactly right!

The Wilson Audio Specialties Alexx V ($135,000 $151,000/pair) is the biggest, heaviest, most expensive loudspeaker I've had in my listening room. It replaces the original Alexx in Wilson's lineup; Michael Fremer reviewed the earlier Alexx, bought it, and owned it until replacing it recently with the Wilson Chronosonic XVX.

Take my advice—take Wilson's advice—and have a dealer set up your speakers. Listening The soundstage was huge, well beyond anything I'd heard before. It stretched to waaaaay outside the speakers and created detailed, tangible images to the very edges. It was deep as well, though not quite as deep as it was wide.

The drivers that Wilson uses have around 4-5dB greater output for the mids and highs so they may be able to offer a bit higher SPL performance in that arena, but I rarely listen to music over 95dB average @1kHz.
Wilson Alexia Loudspeaker - The Absolute Sound

The result was stunningly close, in my experience, to listening to Wilson’s far more expensive models. The first thing I noticed was a soundstage width with good centerfill and depth. This came as a bit of shock since I really didn’t believe Peter McGrath’s initial setup would work. It seemed too wide to really lock in and provide a coherent stage.
Wilson Audio Specialties Sabrina loudspeaker - …

It is a large three way speaker like the Wilson. But it must sound better, as it sounds better than the Sophia and Sasha!! It has similar efficiency but unlike with the Sabrina you can adjust its low and high frequencies for room conditions. It also is at ease playing loudly. And at $5,000, I believe, it costs less than a third as much!!

Wilson products will always place as Class A Recommended. I kinda liked Wilsons but not for price/performance reasons. They play well, or at least as well as the electronics in Front of them.. Wilson would demo them using Tape and the nicest electronics, they always sound "Good". I still preferred Magnepan instead ( as do most Audiophiles )
