Tested VirtualBox 5.2.32 on Windows 7 host and Windows XP/7 guests. Audio quality is good. There is no distortion/skipping/stutter. However, delay is built up while playing sound. Audio is in sync at start but drifts gradually. There is a 2 second delay after 2 hours of playing. It is noticeable when start, pause or resume playing.

I am running Windows 7 RC simply to get a preview of the GUI and note similarties and differences with Vista. I have tried both Lubuntu 14.04 and Windows 7 guests with the same results. Tried different audio settings combinations Host Driver: Windows DirectSound and Controller: ICH AC97 (was what I had before and was working for Lubuntu guest and Win 7 host) as well as Intel HD Audio.

Win 7 / 64-bit doesn't seem to recognize the virtual sound card at all, even when I explicitly select the realtek driver for it. Added the RealTek AC97 audio driver from their website for windows 7 64-bit, paying attention to where it downloaded to. Go to device manager > Audio > Driver, manually change the driver, point it to the folder and tell it to include subfolders. should install fine except for the windows warning - ignore it, Realtek is legitimate.
