It seemed to play in other software but was choppy in XBMC. So I redid my file. This time I used the MPEG-2 video tracks and AC3 audio, did the append with mkvmerge, and when all was done used X264/FAAC (handbrake library) to convert to AVC/AAC/AC3 passthrough. This time it worked.

I un-installed everything, re-installed VLC , CoreAvC CCCP ffdshow, turned off x264 play back in ffdshow, and am having no playback issue's anymore, besides with that one file. I am guessing it's just that file. I would assume so, I use the rig with a 9500GT in to watch 1080 and 720 vids and get no skipping whatsoever.

I've tried every setting I can using both the x264 and the AMD video encoder. Tried upping and lowering the sound quality. Recording or Streaming. Each time I use the hauppauge source, sound goes choppy after about 3-5 minutes. And the time factor seems to be cumulative, meaning that if I stream or record for 2-3 minutes, sound is fine.
