However, as soon as I plug in the A/V cable it overrides the DVI signal and I loose picture. So I either need to use the DVI for video and the A/V for audio OR use the optical audio on the xbox. I don't have optical audio speakers, but I have 5.1 PC speakers and a soundcard that has optical audio input. I'm stuck folks - help!

Nice picture in place, still no sound. Underneath the DVI port on the TV are red and white inputs for audio, I used the component cable that the XBOX came with to make the connection using the 3.5 mm output jack on the XBOX to the audio inputs directly under the DVI input on the TV.
