Most Blu rays movies have multiple audio tracks; one being the compressed lossless audio track and the uncompressed audio track but the difference between them two is the resolution. I have seen some uncompressed audio be 16bit and then see compressed lossless audio be 24bit or even 36bit. Which if you listen to both you do hear a difference.

It does have a HDMI pass-through, but it’s limited to 1080p so I can’t use that for my Xbox One S to watch at 4k. 90% of the content I watch is either Blu-Ray or 4k Blu-Ray with lossless audio. Currently I have it running through HDMI ARC on my TV, but I know that definitely doesn’t support full lossless Atmos audio.

Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love my Xbox One X… As a gaming console. I never have a single issue with it when I’m playing games. SDR, HDR10, 4k, 1080p. All the games work great. But we need to face it, as an entertainment device this fucking thing BLOWS. And that fact is made worse by the simple fact that it has SO. MUCH. POTENTIAL.
